information is presented as a matter of service only,and does not
constitute a recommendation of the locations listed. There may

Rates are in Canadian dollars, subject to availability and may change

Housing Office, University of Toronto Long-term visitors to the Fields Institute are eligible to use the housing services of the University of Toronto upon presentation of a letter of confirmation, available from the Members Liaison. The housing office is in the Koffler Centre, 214 College Street. You must purchase a $22 membership to use the service for 8 weeks. |

The Fields Institute actively seeks out long-term accommodation resources for Institute members who are visiting for an extended period of time. Resources will be listed here for your use. All rental arrangements must be made directly between tenant and rental agents or landlords. Fields Institute staff cannot do this on your behalf.Please be aware that Toronto's rental housing vacancy rate is one of the lowest in Canada. Program participants are advised to visit Toronto several months in advance of their stay at the Fields Institute in order to find appropriate accommodation. This is particularly important for members visiting with their families. Approximate rental rates in Toronto are as follows:

This program provides housing to persons who are professors on staff at another institution and are visiting U of T (which includes The Fields Institute) for research or teaching purposes. Length of stay must be from 3 months to 18 months.

Many faculty, staff and community members place ads for sub-lets and sabbatical housing rentals in the university newspaper, published one or two times every month by the Department of Public Affairs. These listings are extensive and a useful resource.

There is a good selection of shops, theatres and restaurants very close. Also, walking distance from The Fields Institute. Rooms include a 1-bedroom fully serviced and fully furnished/equipped apartment and a 2 bedroom, upscale, furnished condo. Most have gas fireplaces and private decks with barbecues. There is also a patio.
The apartments tend to attract corporate and academic clientele. All are 'non-smoking'. Some pets will be accepted with a deposit for special cleaning.

Most suites are rented on a monthly basis. Some shorter terms may be available. Rates are from $55 per night to $160 per night (based on 30 day rentals). There are no taxes on rentals of 30 days or longer.
